Starmer announces military plans for Ukraine peacekeeping amid coalition efforts

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer announced an expanded coalition of nations is intensifying efforts to support Ukraine in peace negotiations with Russia, following a virtual summit on March 15. The coalition plans to hold military talks on March 20 to establish concrete security guarantees for Ukraine, emphasizing the necessity of such arrangements to ensure compliance from Russia. Starmer highlighted that the coalition will also impose additional sanctions on Russia and explore measures regarding frozen Russian assets. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged that strong pressure must continue against Russia to achieve peace, asserting that the Kremlin's claims about the conflict are misleading. He expressed confidence that peace is achievable through collective action for security guarantees. Starmer reiterated that military support for Ukraine will be ramped up as the situation evolves.
