UNF Poll: Casey DeSantis Leads 2026 GOP Governor Candidates

A recent poll from the University of North Florida indicates that Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis is the most favored potential Republican candidate for the 2026 gubernatorial race, boasting a 30% overall favorability rating, with 57% approval among registered Republicans. This popularity places her ahead of other speculated candidates, including U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds and former U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, who received 27% and 18% favorable ratings, respectively. The poll highlights a significant advantage for DeSantis, especially among Trump voters, where she enjoys a +53 approval rating. However, many respondents were unfamiliar with the other candidates, as 54% had never heard of Ashley Moody and 66% had not heard of Donalds. While speculation about a potential run persists, Gov. Ron DeSantis stated that his wife is not actively seeking the position. The poll was conducted with 871 active registered voters from February 5 to 14.
