H-E-B to Open First Dallas Store in 2026

H-E-B, the San Antonio-based grocery chain, is set to open its first store in Dallas, Texas, after purchasing a 10-acre property at the southeast corner of Hillcrest Road and LBJ Freeway. The site currently hosts office buildings, which will be demolished to make way for the new store, with an expected opening in late 2026. This expansion follows H-E-B’s rapid growth in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where it has already established multiple stores in suburbs such as Frisco, Plano, and Rockwall. Despite being new to Dallas, H-E-B is not unfamiliar to the area, having operated Central Market locations and a Joe V's Smart Shop within city limits. The grocer plans to work closely with local communities and city officials to ensure the new store meets community needs. Its increasing presence has prompted competitors like Walmart and Kroger to enhance their investments in the region.
