Nvidia, GM Expand AI Partnership for Autonomous Vehicles

Nvidia and General Motors (GM) have announced an expanded partnership to advance autonomous vehicle technology and optimize manufacturing operations through artificial intelligence (AI). The announcement was made at the Nvidia GTC 2025 conference, where CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the integration of Nvidia's Drive AGX hardware in GM's advanced driver-assistance systems and AI-driven factory operations, including 'digital twins' for assembly line optimization. This collaboration will leverage Nvidia's Omniverse and Blackwell architecture to enhance vehicle safety and manufacturing efficiency, with plans to integrate these AI platforms into GM's next-generation vehicles, from passenger cars to trucks. Despite challenges in commercializing autonomous technology, GM aims to boost revenue through AI advancements, with expectations to generate significant subscription income from its Super Cruise driver-assistance technology.
