The UK's used car market grew by 5.5% in 2024, with 7,643,180 transactions recorded, marking eight consecutive quarters of growth. Superminis continued to dominate sales, making up 32.3% of all used cars sold, followed by lower medium vehicles and dual purpose cars. The demand for used battery electric vehicles (BEVs) surged by 57.4%, reaching a market share of 2.5%. Despite the popularity of certain colors, black cars led the preferences among used buyers, while luxury saloons represented a mere 0.5% of the market.
