Project Runway Contestant Arthur Ah Loo Killed at Utah No Kings Protest

Arthur Folasa “Afa” Ah Loo, a 39-year-old Samoan fashion designer and Season 17 contestant on Project Runway, was fatally shot during a No Kings protest in Salt Lake City, Utah. The incident occurred when armed security guards, referred to as “peacekeepers,” opened fire on Arturo Gamboa, 24, who brandished an AR-15-style rifle and ran toward the crowd. Ah Loo was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire and died at a local hospital, while Gamboa was injured and arrested, facing a murder charge. Ah Loo was known for his bold designs inspired by his Samoan heritage and had recently become an American citizen, proudly voting for the first time in 2024.
