Norwegian Citizen Charged with Espionage for Russia and Iran

A Norwegian citizen in his 20s, employed as a security guard at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, has been arrested on charges of espionage for Russia and Iran. The man, who also studies security at the University of Tromsø, allegedly collected and shared sensitive information with Russian and Iranian authorities. He was arrested at his home and will be detained for four weeks while investigations continue. Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) has confiscated a significant amount of digital material for examination. His lawyer, John Christian Elden, states that the accused has admitted to contact with intelligence agents but denies any espionage. The case has raised concerns about global espionage networks, highlighting ongoing tensions with Moscow and Tehran.
