DWF Labs Invests $25M in Trump-Backed WLFI
DWF Labs, a crypto market maker with a controversial history, has invested $25 million in governance tokens of World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance project backed by President Donald Trump and his family. The deal grants DWF Labs governance rights in WLFI and includes a commitment to provide liquidity for the upcoming USD1 stablecoin aimed at institutional investors. In conjunction, DWF Labs is opening a New York City office to build relationships with US regulators, financial institutions, and local talent. WLFI, launched in September 2024, has already raised over $600 million, establishing itself as a major US crypto player. The partnership has raised concerns in the crypto community due to DWF Labs' past allegations of market manipulation and misconduct. The collaboration is seen as a potential catalyst for US crypto market growth but brings questions about governance and regulatory oversight.
