US Homeland Security Chief Meets Netanyahu in Israel

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem visited Israel after the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, DC. During her visit, she met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, expressing strong US support for Israel's border security and Gaza war policies. Noem attended a memorial ceremony for the slain staffers, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, and participated in Jerusalem Day celebrations as the first US cabinet secretary to do so. She also visited the Western Wall and other symbolic sites. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee highlighted the close US-Israel alliance during the visit. Netanyahu used the occasion to criticize leaders from the UK, France, and Canada for urging Israel to halt its military campaign, stating that Hamas seeks Israel's destruction.
