India, France Reaffirm Strategic Partnership, Support Peaceful Ukraine Resolution

French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held several phone conversations reaffirming their shared commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. Macron briefed Modi on the outcomes of the 'Coalition of the Willing' meeting, which is led by the UK and France to support Ukraine's security concerns. Modi reiterated India's consistent support for a peaceful resolution of the conflict and emphasized the importance of early restoration of peace and stability in the region. Both leaders positively assessed the progress in bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including economic, defense, science, technology, and space, and pledged to further strengthen the India-France strategic partnership aligned with the Horizon 2047 Roadmap and Indo-Pacific Roadmap. The discussions also highlighted their intent to continue close collaboration to promote global peace and stability, with Modi thanking Macron for accepting the invitation to India's AI Impact Summit in February 2026. These talks reflect the ongoing diplomatic efforts by both countries to contribute constructively to ending the war in Ukraine while enhancing their strategic ties.
