Michigan Democrat Cancels Town Hall After Minnesota Lawmaker Shootings

The decision to postpone was made out of an abundance of caution and to avoid diverting law enforcement resources from broader public safety efforts. The attack resulted in the deaths of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and injuries to state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife. Scholten expressed her commitment to reschedule the event and ensure that constituents have opportunities to engage safely.
