Reform UK Donors Cover Nigel Farage Security After 75% Funding Cut
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has had his taxpayer-funded security detail cut by 75%, a decision described as inexplicable by Reform's head of policy, Zia Yusuf. Following the reduction, party donors have stepped in to ensure Farage's safety amid what Reform claims is an unprecedented campaign of vilification and incitement to violence, allegedly coordinated by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and senior Labour ministers. Yusuf cited numerous public threats and social media calls for Farage's assassination, warning that if harm befalls Farage, the Prime Minister would be held responsible. The security downgrade coincides with escalating tensions after Starmer described a Reform policy as racist and accused Farage of not liking Britain, accusations Starmer denies. Public opinion is divided, with a YouGov survey showing nearly half of Britons view Reform UK and its policies as racist. The dispute highlights growing political polarization and concerns over the safety of political figures in the UK.
