Oklahoma Woman Sentenced for Capitol Riot Role

Dova Alina Winegeart, a 51-year-old woman from Fairview, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to four months in prison for her involvement in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach, specifically for attempted destruction of government property. Following her sentencing, which also includes a year of supervised release and a $1,000 fine, Winegeart filed a motion to delay her judgment until after Donald Trump's inauguration, as he has suggested he may pardon individuals involved in the Capitol riots. Winegeart was acquitted of four additional charges but was found guilty of using a metal-tipped pole to strike the Capitol's exterior door. During her trial, evidence included surveillance footage and text messages expressing her intent to breach the Capitol.
