Tucson Palm Springs Pride Walks Postponed 2025 Financial Logistical Challenges

Two prominent regional Pride organizations have postponed major events into 2026: Tucson Pride moved its 2025 parade and festival from Nov. 22, 2025 to Feb. 21, 2026, while Greater Palm Springs Pride postponed its inaugural Equality Walk until 2026. Tucson cited an unavoidable permit conflict with El Tour de Tucson, financial shortfalls after a record-heat 2024 that reduced attendance, and an administrative lapse that temporarily suspended its nonprofit status—though an incoming bequest and work to reinstate the organization are addressing debts and operations. Palm Springs officials said the Equality Walk was delayed after losing their presenting sponsor amid the arrest of Silvercrest Advertising’s CEO, compounded by preexisting budget gaps (reported as a $325,000 shortfall) and other sponsorship withdrawals. Both organizations said the moves were made to protect event quality and community safety, and they plan smaller or transferred activities, restructured fundraising, and eventual returns in 2026 as they stabilize finances and sponsorships.
