Minnesota Democrats Introduce Bill to Create Sanctuary State for Illegal Immigrants

Minnesota Democrats have introduced a bill to make the state a sanctuary for illegal immigrants, despite the growing national debate about immigration and the recent apprehension of an alleged al-Shabaab terrorist in the state. The bill, known as the North Star Act, is one of many priorities for the DFL-led Legislature. It would prohibit state and local law enforcement from cooperating with federal agencies to remove unlawfully present foreign nationals from the country, stating that it would ensure that the state of Minnesota is not complicit in the vision of former President Donald Trump.
