ICE Arrests Russian National With Alleged Al-Qaeda Ties In Philadelphia

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in collaboration with the FBI, arrested a 39-year-old Tajikistan-born Russian national in Philadelphia on suspicion of terrorism-related activities and alleged ties to Al-Qaeda. The individual was initially encountered at the San Ysidro Pedestrian West port of entry in California in March 2023, where he was charged as an inadmissible alien and paroled into the U.S. pending an immigration hearing. Tajikistan officials declared the man a fugitive wanted for organizing a criminal community, leading to his arrest. ICE stated that the arrest demonstrates their commitment to safeguarding the homeland and enhancing community safety through partnerships with the FBI.
