S. Korea, U.S., Japan Conduct Joint Naval Drills Near Jeju
South Korea, the United States, and Japan conducted joint naval drills involving the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier, aimed at enhancing their deterrence and response capabilities against North Korea's military threats. This exercise, the first of the year, took place in international waters off Jeju and included six additional warships from the three nations. Simultaneously, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States are participating in the 31st edition of Exercise Cope Tiger, which includes air defense and operational training. The exercise features 26 aircraft and over 700 personnel, with the second phase taking place in Thailand until March 28. Both drills reflect the strengthening military cooperation among allied nations in response to regional security challenges. Exercise Cope Tiger, established in 1994, aims to foster defense relations and operational readiness between the participating countries.
