Zelensky Urges West for Long-Range Missile Support

During a joint visit to Kyiv, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy expressed solidarity with Ukraine as President Volodymyr Zelensky called for 'strong decisions' regarding the use of long-range missiles to target Russia. Zelensky emphasized the urgency of obtaining permission to utilize Storm Shadow cruise missiles, asserting that the decision ultimately rests with Western leaders' willingness to act. The discussions follow reports of increased Iranian military support for Russia, escalating the need for Ukraine to enhance its offensive capabilities. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also urged Lammy for assistance in acquiring long-range missile systems. Blinken and Lammy acknowledged their commitment to understanding Ukraine's requests while maintaining that current policies on missile use remain unchanged. A critical meeting between President Biden and Sir Keir Starmer is anticipated to further address these issues.
