US Plans Temporary Gaza Trusteeship, Population Relocation, Reconstruction

The Trump administration is considering a comprehensive postwar reconstruction plan for Gaza, which includes establishing a US-administered trusteeship lasting about ten years to transform the region into a luxury tourism and high-tech manufacturing hub. The plan, known as the Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust (GREAT Trust), proposes the temporary relocation of Gaza's over two million residents, offering those who choose to leave $5,000 in cash, four years of rent subsidies, and one year of food aid. During the trusteeship, at least 75% of the population is expected to remain, while up to 25% may relocate either abroad or to secure zones within Gaza, with many not returning. The plan also includes providing digital tokens to landowners in exchange for redevelopment rights, which could be used to finance new lives elsewhere or for apartments in six to eight AI-powered smart cities planned within Gaza. Financial modeling and planning for the initiative involved the Boston Consulting Group and the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, highlighting an anticipated significant return on investment and a vision to rebuild Gaza on modern and sustainable foundations. This ambitious proposal comes amid severe humanitarian conditions and ongoing conflict in the region, aiming to radically reshape Gaza's future under American oversight.
