Antony Blinken on Taiwan

During a recent ASEAN summit, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned China's 'escalating and unlawful actions' in the South China Sea, particularly its coast guard's hostile behavior towards the Philippines. He praised the Philippines for successfully resupplying troops at a disputed shoal without Chinese interference. Blinken also raised concerns about China's provocative actions surrounding Taiwan, including a simulated blockade during the inauguration of Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te, in discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
