Tesla Model Y Spurs September Sales Growth in France, Denmark, Norway

Tesla experienced a mixed year in 2025 across Europe, with a notable rebound in sales during September driven primarily by the refreshed Model Y. France and Denmark reported their first sales increases of the year, with Denmark seeing a 20.5% increase and the Model Y becoming its best-selling vehicle, while France's sales rose by 2.74%. Norway and Spain also showed growth, with registrations up 14.7% and 3.4% respectively, supported by strong Model Y demand. However, Sweden continued to see a steep decline in Tesla sales, dropping 64% year-over-year and marking the ninth consecutive month of decline. Despite the recent uptick, Tesla faces ongoing challenges from intensifying competition, particularly from Chinese automaker BYD which outsold Tesla in the EU twice in 2025, as well as pressures from an aging model lineup and regulatory changes. Analysts remain cautious, noting that Tesla needs new models to sustain growth, and investors are watching closely for signs from upcoming quarterly results amid a broader European market downturn earlier in the year.
