Lamborghini Delays Lanzador EV to 2029

Lamborghini has postponed the launch of its first electric vehicle, the Lanzador, to 2029, citing market unpreparedness and potential regulatory changes in Europe as reasons for the delay. Initially planned for 2028, the Lanzador will feature a 2+2 grand tourer design with advanced aerodynamics and sustainable interior materials. CEO Stephan Winkelmann expressed skepticism about the readiness of the sports car segment for full electrification by 2025 or 2026, suggesting synthetic fuels could also play a role in the transition. This decision aligns with a broader trend among luxury automakers, as companies like Aston Martin and Ferrari also adjust their EV strategies. Meanwhile, Lamborghini will continue to focus on plug-in hybrids within its lineup, reflecting a cautious approach towards electrification.
