Global Clean Electricity Surges to 40.9% in 2024
In 2024, renewable and nuclear energy sources collectively produced 40.9% of global electricity, a historic milestone driven primarily by a remarkable surge in solar energy, which grew by 29% year-on-year and contributed 474 TWh.
