Early Voting Starts in Many U.S. Counties
Early voting for the Nov. 4, 2025 general and special elections is underway in many jurisdictions, generally running Oct. 20–31, with some Idaho counties beginning as early as Oct. 14 and Election Day set for Tuesday, Nov. 4. Denton County lists Oct. 20–25 from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Oct. 26 from 11 a.m.–5 p.m., and Oct. 27–31 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Dallas County lists Oct. 20–24 from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Oct. 25 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m., Oct. 26 from noon–6 p.m., and Oct. 27–31 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Harris County’s early voting runs Oct. 20–31 (Mon–Sat 7 a.m.–7 p.m., Sun 12 p.m.–7 p.m.), with mail‑ballot applications due Oct. 24 and ballot previews at HarrisVotes.com; Midland’s centers are open Oct. 20–31 but closed Oct. 25–26, with Election Day centers 7 a.m.–7 p.m. In Idaho, Canyon County (Caldwell) opened in‑person early voting Oct. 14 at a new elections building and will continue weekdays 8 a.m.–5 p.m. through Oct. 31 (absentee application deadline Oct. 24), and South Carolina will hold special primary elections Oct. 21, polls open 7 a.m.–7 p.m., to fill soon‑to‑be‑vacant Senate District 12 and House District 21 seats.
