Winston Love Arrested in Target Theft Ring

Watauga police arrested 28-year-old Winston Love on Oct. 31 after employees reported he stole about $1,200 in Lego from a Target and officers took him into custody following a brief standoff at a residence. Investigators say Love is suspected in 23 thefts at Target stores across 14 North Texas cities over the past two months, allegedly stealing more than $37,000 in merchandise, much of it Lego. Police say he has eight outstanding felony warrants and is believed tied to an organized retail-theft ring operating in Texas and Oklahoma. A search of the home recovered additional stolen property, illegal narcotics, a vehicle and roughly $5,000 in cash; Love faces state-jail-level felony theft charges and more charges are possible as evidence is processed. Separately, Colma police are seeking a Hispanic man in his late 30s to early 40s who allegedly stole two laptops worth about $6,899.98 from a Best Buy on Oct. 28 and have asked the public to contact them with tips.
