NY AG Letitia James Launches Portal to Collect ICE Activity Footage Across State

New York Attorney General Letitia James has launched an online portal for residents to submit photos and videos of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity following a large ICE raid in Manhattan's Chinatown targeting street vendors suspected of criminal activity. The portal aims to document potential violations by ICE agents, including unlawful questioning, detention, or intimidation, as part of broader efforts to monitor federal immigration enforcement in the state. The recent raid involved over 50 federal agents and has sparked protests and criticism, with some detainees reportedly being U.S. citizens. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons defended the operation, stating it was intelligence-driven and focused on criminal arrests related to forgery and drug offenses. James, who was recently indicted amid political tensions with President Donald Trump, emphasized the importance of civil rights protection and transparency.
