In the midst of escalating trade tensions between Canada and the U.S., some Canadians have proposed blocking American access to Pornhub, a Canadian-owned adult site that draws nearly 40% of its traffic from the U.S. Toronto resident Marc Olimpo and comedian Matthew Puzhitsky have each championed this idea, describing it as a 'peaceful yet powerful' response to the trade dispute. The proposal has gained some traction through online petitions, although the number of signatures remains relatively low. This initiative follows the imposition of 25% tariffs on Canadian goods by the U.S. and other contentious trade policies by the Trump administration. Pornhub's parent company, Aylo, has already restricted access in 17 U.S. states due to age verification laws. Advocates argue that blocking Pornhub could compel the U.S. to reconsider its tariff measures, framing it as a strategic move in the digital age.
