Arkansas Governor Appoints New Secretary and Justices

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has appointed Cole Jester as the new Secretary of State, replacing John Thurston who has been elected as State Treasurer. Jester, previously Sanders's deputy chief legal counsel, is praised for his legal acumen and commitment to conservative values. Additionally, Sanders appointed Cody Hiland and Nicholas Bronni to the Arkansas Supreme Court. Hiland, who joined the court following the death of Justice Robin Wynne, will now replace Justice Courtney Hudson. Nicholas Bronni, formerly Arkansas's Solicitor General, will replace Justice Karen Baker, who was elected chief justice. These appointments aim to reinforce a conservative majority in the state's highest court.
