Ukraine warns Putin prepares major offensive amid Trump peace talks

Ukraine has warned that Vladimir Putin is merely 'bluffing' about his intentions for peace and is expected to launch a brutal offensive in May. This comes after Putin praised Donald Trump for his evolving stance on the conflict, while Trump has criticized Ukraine and its president, Zelensky, calling him a 'dictator.' Amid ongoing peace talks, former Finnish general Pekka Toveri cautioned that Putin could exploit the situation to undermine NATO, potentially utilizing a 'Narva Scenario' that involves a sudden attack on Estonia. Toveri emphasized that trusting Putin during peace negotiations could embolden him for future invasions. Furthermore, Ukraine's Defense Minister warned that without European troops, Putin may feign compliance while secretly preparing for escalation. The UK Prime Minister has called for more European involvement in peacekeeping efforts in Ukraine.
