New Orleans Security Review Enlists William Bratton

In response to the recent deadly vehicle attack on Bourbon Street, New Orleans has enlisted former NYC Police Commissioner William Bratton to assess the city's security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements. The attack, which resulted in 14 fatalities, has drawn criticism over inadequate barriers and insufficient security measures. Concurrently, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has initiated a comprehensive review of the security planning for New Year's and the Sugar Bowl events, focusing on coordination, funding, and operational failures. The review will also address the effectiveness of the existing bollard system and other security infrastructures. Both investigations aim to prevent future incidents in the city's popular tourist areas. The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation will fund Bratton's work to bolster city security.
