New Superintendents Named for Two Texas ISDs

Dr. Toni Lopez has been named as the lone finalist for the superintendent of Pasadena Independent School District, expected to replace Dr. DeeAnn Powell after a 21-day waiting period as per state law. Lopez, who has been with the district for 28 years, was chosen following a search process involving community and staff input. Concurrently, Gabe Trujillo has been appointed the lone finalist for the superintendent of Grand Prairie ISD, following the controversial resignation of Jorge Arredondo. Trujillo, a U.S. Air Force veteran with over three decades of educational experience, previously held leadership roles within Grand Prairie ISD and is set to begin in April after a similar 21-day wait. His appointment is seen as a move towards stability for the district after Arredondo's departure. Both districts are undergoing leadership changes aimed at fostering educational success and stability.
