Dallas Mavericks Sign Broadcast Deal with TEGNA
The Dallas Mavericks have signed a new multi-year broadcast rights agreement with TEGNA to air all non-nationally televised games for free over-the-air, beginning with the game against the Phoenix Suns on October 26. This deal will allow approximately 10 million Texans to access Mavericks games, nearly tripling the previous household reach under the former agreement with Bally Sports. TEGNA’s KMPX in Dallas-Ft. Worth will broadcast the majority of the games, with WFAA simulcasting at least 15 of them. Mavericks officials, including governor Patrick Dumont, expressed enthusiasm for making the team's games more accessible to local fans. The partnership aims to enhance viewer engagement and provide extensive coverage of the team throughout the season. This marks a significant shift in local broadcasting strategy for the Mavericks following fan frustrations over prior broadcast arrangements.
