Nationwide Amazon Boycott Scheduled May 6-12

A second week-long boycott of Amazon and its affiliates, organized by The People's Union USA, is being held from May 6 to May 12, 2025, as part of ongoing protests against corporate practices and the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. The boycott targets Amazon, Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, Prime Video, Audible, Twitch, Ring, Zappos, and Kindle, and follows previous actions against other major retailers like Walmart and General Mills. Organizers, led by John Schwarz, cite Amazon's corporate greed, alleged tax avoidance, market manipulation, and recent cooperation with President Trump's administration as motivating factors. The protests are also a response to the elimination of federal DEI programs and Amazon's decision not to disclose tariff-related price increases after discussions with the White House. Despite Amazon's strong financial performance in early 2025, activists vow to continue economic pressure until corporations restore DEI initiatives and address broader concerns. Additional boycotts and 'buycotts'—supporting pro-DEI businesses—are planned through the summer.
