Dallas police officer Darron Burks was fatally shot in what authorities described as a premeditated execution while he was parked between calls in Oak Cliff. The suspect, Corey Cobb-Bey, approached Burks and shot him after a brief conversation, also injuring two other responding officers, Senior Corporals Jamie Farmer and Karissa David. Farmer has been released from the hospital, while David remains in critical but stable condition. Cobb-Bey fled the scene, leading police on a chase before being fatally shot by officers. Burks, a former schoolteacher and recent police academy graduate, is remembered for his significant contributions to the community. Public visitations and a celebration of life are scheduled for next week at Watermark Church in Dallas.
