Turning Point USA Resumes Tour After Kirk's Killing

Turning Point USA said it will continue the college “American Comeback” tour begun by founder Charlie Kirk after his Sept. 10 killing, restarting at the University of Minnesota and scheduling stops including Virginia Tech, the University of Oklahoma and a final date at UC Berkeley. High-profile conservative figures listed for the resumed tour include Glenn Youngkin, Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, Vivek Ramaswamy and Erika Kirk, who was unanimously elected TPUSA’s CEO and is among featured speakers. TPUSA says Kirk’s memorial drew massive viewership and that chapter inquiries have surged, claiming inquiries have doubled to more than 120,000 and putting the group “on the cusp” of chapters at nearly every high school and college. Oklahoma Secretary of Education Ryan Walters vowed to establish a TPUSA chapter in every Oklahoma high school, drawing criticism from Democrats and some local school officials who say political organizations should not be allowed in schools. Universities and event organizers say they are reviewing security measures for upcoming events, and some California campuses have placed faculty on leave after comments related to Kirk’s killing.
