Police Shoot Auto Theft Suspect in Texas Chase

An auto theft suspect is in the hospital following a police chase that began early Saturday in Irving and ended in Grand Prairie. The incident started around 1:45 a.m. when the victim of the theft pursued the suspect, prompting police to join the chase. The suspect refused to stop, leading to a high-speed pursuit that ended at a dead end on Singleton Boulevard. After attempting to ram police vehicles to escape, officers discharged their weapons, resulting in minor injuries to the suspect. He is currently hospitalized but will face charges upon discharge. Investigations are underway by both the Irving and Grand Prairie police departments, alongside the Dallas County Public Integrity Unit.
