US Releases Full RFK Assassination Files Online
The U.S. government, under an executive order by President Donald Trump, has released approximately 10,000 pages of documents related to the 1968 assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The files, many undigitized for decades, include handwritten notes by convicted assassin Sirhan Sirhan, such as one referencing the assassination of RFK’s brother. The declassification effort was coordinated by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, with additional releases planned as up to 50,000 more RFK-related files are processed. Both Gabbard and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. praised the move as a step toward greater transparency. The release follows previous disclosures regarding the JFK assassination and is expected to renew public debate, though it is unclear if the new documents offer significant new insights. All released files are available online via the National Archives and Records Administration.
