Romania Signs Deal to Acquire Israel Iron Dome for NATO Defense

Romania, a NATO and EU member bordering Ukraine, has signed a deal with Israeli defense manufacturer Rafael to acquire the Iron Dome missile defense system to protect against short and very short-range missile threats. Romanian Defense Minister Ionuț Moșteanu emphasized the system's proven effectiveness, citing its performance against Iranian missile attacks on Tel Aviv, and stated it would help defend critical infrastructure such as airports, military bases, and cities.
