Annual Blessing of the Animals Held

Multiple churches across the U.S. and in Peru held Blessing of the Animals ceremonies in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, attracting pet owners and their animals. In Fairfield Glade, about 75 people and 50 pets participated in a joint event led by clergy from local churches, emphasizing unity and care for animals. Meanwhile, Rev. Jean Beniste in New Hampshire humorously addressed concerns about migrants by assuring attendees he wouldn't eat their pets, creating a light-hearted atmosphere while blessing dogs and cats. In Peru, priests blessed a variety of pets, celebrating the bond between humans and animals and praying for their health and protection. These events not only highlight the love for animals within different faith communities but also serve as a platform for addressing broader social issues.
