Denmark and France Boost Support for Ukraine's Energy

France has pledged to provide at least EUR 60 million to support Ukraine's energy sector by the end of the year, highlighting the urgency as winter approaches, according to Pierre Heilbronn, France's Special Envoy for Ukraine. This commitment was made during a G7+ meeting where countries discussed further financing for urgent energy needs, including repairs to infrastructure. Additionally, Denmark has allocated 130 million Danish kroner (over 16 million euros) to bolster Ukraine's energy system, emphasizing the need for urgent measures to restore energy supply security amid ongoing Russian attacks. Danish Energy Minister Lars Aagaard condemned Russia's actions, stating that many Ukrainian homes could face winter without heat or electricity. The Danish support will be executed in collaboration with various organizations to procure equipment and spare parts necessary for restoring energy infrastructure. Collectively, these contributions reflect international efforts to enhance Ukraine's energy resilience as it faces significant challenges this winter.
