NYPD Detective Suspended for Ryder Cup Security Impersonation

Detective Melvin Eng of the NYPD, while on sick leave, infiltrated the Ryder Cup golf tournament at Bethpage Black by falsely claiming to be part of President Donald Trump's security detail. Wearing full tactical gear, Eng bypassed multiple layers of Secret Service and State Police security but was ultimately caught when he dropped a gun magazine in front of actual security personnel. He is now suspended without pay and facing administrative charges for theft of services. Eng, who is also president of the NYPD Asian Jade Society, reportedly claimed affiliation with federal agents during the incident.
