Russia detains Ukrainian agent linked to Moscow car bomb killing general
Russian authorities have detained Ignat Kuzin, whom they accuse of being an agent for Ukrainian special services, in connection with a car bombing that killed Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, deputy chief of the main operations directorate of Russia’s army, near Moscow. The Federal Security Service alleges Kuzin, who holds a Ukrainian residence permit, planted a homemade explosive under a Volkswagen Golf parked in a residential area, with the device reportedly detonated remotely from Ukraine. Russian officials claim the attack is part of ongoing 'terrorist activities' orchestrated by Kyiv, although Ukrainian authorities have not provided any official comment on the incident. Moskalik was a senior figure in the Russian military, previously involved in high-level negotiations regarding the war in eastern Ukraine and other international talks. Investigators continue to question Kuzin to uncover further details of the operation and collect evidence. The incident follows a recent pattern of attacks on Russian military figures, escalating tensions between the two countries.
