Navalnaya Declares 'No Point Negotiating' With Putin at Munich Conference

Yulia Navalnaya, widow of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, conveyed a strong message at the Munich Security Conference, asserting that negotiating with President Vladimir Putin is futile, as he is likely to lie and betray any agreements. She emphasized that any deal with Putin would either be broken if he remains in power or rendered meaningless if he loses power. Navalnaya's comments come just before the first anniversary of her husband's death, which coincided with the conference. Alongside exiled Belarusian leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, she highlighted the broader implications of the Ukraine conflict, stating that supporting Ukraine would also strengthen neighboring countries like Belarus and Moldova. Tsikhanouskaya warned that a Ukrainian defeat would allow Putin to maintain his influence in the region. The discussions are taking place as U.S. and Ukrainian officials aim to find pathways to peace in the ongoing war.
