Romanian officials deny US pressure in Andrew Tate human trafficking case

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu stated that the United States has made no requests regarding the legal status of Andrew and Tristan Tate, who are under investigation for human trafficking and related charges. This assertion follows reports of US pressure, particularly from former President Donald Trump's envoy Richard Grenell, to lift the travel restrictions imposed on the Tate brothers. Romania's Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu confirmed that while the case was discussed, he did not perceive Grenell's comments as pressure. The Tate brothers, who have dual US and British citizenship, continue to deny all allegations against them. Meanwhile, four alleged victims of Andrew Tate have urged the US to avoid interfering with Romanian judicial processes, expressing concerns that such involvement could hinder justice. The situation highlights the tension between US political interests and ongoing legal proceedings in Romania.
