Russia's Artillery Ammo Usage Halves After Strikes
Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported a significant reduction in Russian artillery ammunition usage, which he attributed to targeted Ukrainian strikes on Russian military production facilities. He stated that over the past few months, the daily expenditure of artillery rounds in the Russian military has decreased from approximately 40,000 to nearly half that number. These strikes have included long-range attacks on oil refineries and ammunition depots deep within Russian territory, with Ukraine launching its largest assault recently that involved missiles and drones. Despite facing disadvantages in artillery numbers, Ukraine has progressed in arms production, now fulfilling about one-third of its annual weaponry needs domestically. Moreover, Ukraine is investing heavily in developing its own air defense systems, aiming for a record $35 billion in weapons production by 2025. The ongoing assaults underscore Ukraine's ability to penetrate Russian air defenses and target critical military infrastructure effectively.
