Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Accepts Six-Game NFL Suspension

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has agreed to a six-game suspension to start the 2025 NFL season for violating the league's personal conduct policy related to a 2024 high-speed crash that caused injuries. The NFL and Rice reached this settlement ahead of a scheduled disciplinary hearing on September 30, allowing Rice to be eligible to return in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Rice had previously faced a proposed suspension of at least 10 games, which his side rejected. The suspension begins with the Chiefs' season opener, and both the NFL and NFLPA are finalizing the terms. Rice, who was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation for his role in the crash, had a strong rookie season but was limited by injuries last year. The Chiefs retained eight wide receivers on their initial roster, possibly anticipating Rice's suspension early in the season.
