Rudy Giuliani Settles Defamation Case with Election Workers

Rudy Giuliani has reached a tentative settlement with Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, resolving claims related to a nearly $150 million defamation judgment against him. The settlement allows Giuliani to retain his Florida condominium and New York apartment while concluding all litigation related to the workers’ claims. Giuliani had previously been found liable for defaming Freeman and Moss by falsely accusing them of tampering with the 2020 election results, which led to a jury awarding the women substantial damages. Although the terms of the settlement were not fully disclosed, Giuliani expressed satisfaction, claiming he would keep all his personal belongings. He emphasized that the agreement does not imply any admission of wrongdoing on his part. The settlement comes just as a trial was set to begin, which Giuliani notably did not attend.
