Toronto Teacher Suspended After Allegedly Showing Charlie Kirk Murder Video to Elementary Students

A teacher at Corvette Junior Public School in Toronto is under investigation after allegedly showing a graphic video of conservative activist Charlie Kirk's assassination to 10- and 11-year-old students. The incident, which reportedly involved multiple viewings of the violent footage, also included the teacher making comments about anti-fascism, anti-trans issues, and suggesting Kirk deserved his fate. Following complaints from traumatized students and concerned parents, the Toronto District School Board placed the teacher on leave pending the investigation. Principal Jennifer Koptie described the incident as "extremely troubling and completely unacceptable," and confirmed that students would receive social work support. The incident comes amid heightened tensions after Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University, with a University of Toronto professor also recently suspended for a controversial post about the shooting. This event has sparked calls for accountability and a review of educational content and teacher conduct within Canadian schools.
