A multi-vehicle crash on I-635 in Dallas on August 6, 2024, escalated into violence when Angel Zamora Moreno, 26, allegedly stabbed a bystander who attempted to intervene. Following the initial accident, Moreno stole a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) vehicle, injuring the employee, and subsequently stole another vehicle, hitting that driver as well. Three people were hospitalized, including one in critical condition due to the stabbing, while Moreno was also taken to the hospital for evaluation. Witnesses, including Good Samaritans, were instrumental in restraining Moreno until police arrived. He has been charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and one count of criminal mischief. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions for several hours on the busy freeway.
