Navy Deploys Second Destroyer for Southern Border Operations

The U.S. Northern Command has deployed the USS Spruance, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, to support operations along the southern border, joining the USS Gravely already stationed in the Gulf of America. This dual deployment aims to enhance maritime security efforts in combating illegal crossings and drug trafficking, in accordance with presidential executive orders. General Gregory Guillot, NORTHCOM commander, emphasized that the presence of these destroyers represents a coordinated Department of Defense response to restore territorial integrity at the border. Both ships will be accompanied by U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment teams specializing in maritime interdiction missions.
